At such environment, teachers orientate the students s behavior establishing different emotional climates in the use of educational strategies. The socialization model proposed by the area of Parental Styles, as from the dimensions of Responsiveness and Demandingness, provides a good theoretical bracket to the comprehension of how the teachers influence the students s behavior, as well as the study on Aversive Control, which is also present in such interaction. The construction of the IELP covered the following steps: definition of the theoretical constructs: Responsiveness, Demandingness and Aversive Control applied to the analysis of the teacher-student interaction; considerations of literature on the construction of psychological instruments; observations in schools and interviews with principals and students. As from the initial version of the items, the IELP was submitted: 1) the semantic analysis by children that were a part of the own population to which the was constructed and 2) to the content validity, through agreement calculus of specialist judges in the area. Afterwards, was made the instrument application, collectively, in classrooms of 4 and 5 years of Basic Education in public and private schools, totaling 345 participants. The data were analyzed in two moments of the data collection: 1) Analysis of the answers of 113 participants to the 70 items of the IELP, which demonstrated the data s normal distribution and the unidimensionality of each one of the Scales. With the analysis of factorial charges, the number of items in each Scale was reduced, being excluded the ones that presented values under 0,3. So, the Scale of Responsiveness passed from 22 to 21 items, the Demandingness one passed from 22 to 16, and the Aversive Control from 26 to 19. The final version of the IELP stayed with 56 items and was applied to more 232 participants. The results of the total sample (n345), referent to the 56 items showed that the IELP presented 1) construct validity: the values of the Cronbach Alpha indicated good intercorrelation between the items in each Scale ( 0,86 to Responsiveness, 0,74 to Demandingness and 0,85 to Aversive Control) and the analysis of fatorial charges showed that the items belonged to a unique Scale, whereas that all the items presented fatorial charge 0,3; 2) Precision: were satisfactory to each Scale, the values of Cronbach Alpha and the precision indices (p 0,05) between the genres and between 4 and 5 years. However, there was significant difference (p0,05) between public and private schools in the scores of all the IELP Scales, whereas that all the averages from public schools were superior to the ones from the private schools. Therefore, there were created normative tables to each type of school with the gross scores expressed by percentis. With these results, it is concluded that the IELP is a valid, reliable, normatized and of easy application instrument, that can be utilized in future researches and practices, contributing to reflections that may assist the process of teachers s behavior and consequently the quality in the relation with the students.
